My husband and I decided to try to have a baby when finding out my father had cancer in 2003. Our lives changed that very moment. Little did we know that 2 years later our wish to become parents still wasn't coming true. Finally, we took the step and visited Dr. Katz at GBMC. We went through 4 IUI treatments, none were successful. We then went on to our first IVF treatment, resulting in the retrieval of 24 eggs. In January of 2006 we experience our first embryo transfer. IT WAS A SUCCESS!!! I was pregnant! Pregnancy was a total joy until....35 weeks into it, just 5 weeks from the delivery of our miracle....we lost our baby due to his cord being wrapped around his neck. Our world turned upside down! After months of grieving, it snapped....we had to try again and with at least 20 embryos stored, we had high hopes. So in November of 2006, we did a FET and once again, I WAS PREGNANT!!! Pregnancy was extremely difficult for me mentally. I couldn't but think that things would go wrong but with the support of my medical team, I made it through, delivering my little bundle of joy in August of 2007. He is now 4. My husband and I are headed back to see Dr. Katz and his wonderful team and staff to once again do a FET in hopes of expanding our family just one more time.
