IVF was an experience. It wasn't terrible and it wasn't great. We had our meltdowns. We had a big meltdown when after 7 days of injections and none of my follicles were starting to grow bigger, even though my Doctor reassured me in our consultation he could get them to grow, was real hard. My husband and I felt defeated, and we just wanted to stop then and there and quit. I remember after my morning monitoring appointment my husband and I met with my nurse and I just started crying. She told me she would talk to my doctor and go over my results from the morning appointment. Luckily my doctor wasn't ready to "throw in the towel" yet, and we would press on. I'm so glad we did, because the next day at my monitoring appointment all of a sudden my follicles were starting to grow, they were actually getting above 10! I couldn't believe it. For the first time I felt like we actually had a real chance of getting pregnant. I ended up only stimming for another 5 days, and then it was trigger time! Everything from then on went smoothly. I had a 5 day transfer of 1 AA quality blastocyst. I'm also blessed with being able to freeze the remaining 6. I had my egg retrieval August 20, 2010, transfer August 25, 2010, and I had my baby girl Amy May 9, 2011.

Shady Grove will always hold a special place in my heart because without them I wouldn't have my beautiful little girl Amy. Thank you so much!
