The Shady Grove Fertility-Columbia office provided guidance and hope to my husband and me during the most vulnerable time in our lives. Dr. Osheroff and his staff were fantastic -- professional, friendly, and supportive. We trusted them because they did not make any false promises and took everyone's situation seriously. Our treatment was tailored for our specific problem. My husband and I were in great health, but each of us had a fertility issue that, together, didn't give us much chance of conceiving naturally. We had tried for over a year. We had been married for 5 years at that point and were very, very ready for children. We were open to adoption but wanted to try for our own biological kids. Because of our age and good health, we decided not to use the Shared Risk Program. We went through one failed fresh cycle (transferred one embryo), then one failed frozen cycle (transferred one embryo, as one did not survive the thaw). I started to despair. Then came the "golden batch." Our second fresh cycle resulted in our son, Simon, born in 2008. From that batch, we were also able to freeze three embryos. One of those frozen embryos became our second son, Everett, born in 2010. We were conservative and did a single embryo transfer from our frozen batch. We are happy to report two extremely healthy boys who bless us with very little sibling rivalry. That'll come in time we suppose! Thank you for our dream come true!
